Our Story

We opened ‘Paradiso’ in Folkestone’s Creative Quarter in 2018. We wanted to share a passion - a passion for cinema, for film and, especially, for the art of the film poster.

It had all started in the late 1970s, shyly asking the manager of a local cinema for a poster. Just one, then another. The collection grew until life took over. The posters were rolled up and stored away.

Then, sometime around the new Millennium, the posters were unpacked, unfurled and the collection started growing again.

Now, with this website, we aim to put at least some of the collection online. We have many hundreds of original posters, lobby cards, press kits, cinema programmes and other film and television memorabilia, so it will take a while. Meanwhile, if there is something you are looking for, please do enquire. We will let you know if we have it and, if we don't, we can help you find it.
